DCIPS Adjustment In Force (AIF) is the DCIPS force shaping and reduction mechanism. While DoD Components with DCIPS positions make every reasonable effort to avoid AIF, if it becomes necessary, it will be accomplished with maximum advance planning to ensure minimum disruption to mission and employees.
